Backbeat Collective Music: Update!!

Thought I would give you an update on what we have been doing as its getting quite busy now so exciting times ahead.

MONDAY NIGHTS:

Monday night free taster session and onto week 3. We have had lots of lovely musicians all feeling nervous but loving playing together in a band setting. Everyone was buzzing at the end, it's so exciting to see the power of music illuminate a room like that. It's a powerful thing.

I love the fact that Backbeat are able to give this great experience.

OPEN MIC: STARTS 18th APRIL (The Shed GU35 0NX)

We are starting an Open Mic Night in collaboration with the Tap. Every 3rd Thursday of the month. Very excited to be hosting this event and getting the chance to really help and support where we can. So watch out for the details.

SATURDAY SCHOOL:

We have our final Spring Term Showcase this Saturday, which is a free event if you wanna come and support these young aspiring musicians. This term has been about building an acoustic set so we have a real mixture of performances. Come and experience the awe-inspiring talent of our young musicians. Our dedicated students have poured their hearts into perfecting their craft and can't wait to share their passion for music with you. Witness their incredible skills and boundless creativity on stage as they showcase their hard work and dedication.

Incase you are wondering what we do in these sessions here is a quick outline.

Song Exploration:

Work on 3-4 challenging songs during the term.

Dive deep into songs with technical elements, including guitar solos, harmonies, performance.

Receive hands-on guidance to play and sing each part of the selected songs.

Focus on technical development, refining your skills on your chosen instrument.

Help develop stagecraft and presentation.

Our Objective:

At the heart of this course is the exciting goal of performing live onstage with your band at the end of the term. It's not just a music class; it's an opportunity to really develop your live band skills and get to showcase your talent and boost your confidence as a performer. It's designed to be a fun and engaging experience.

Songs are carefully chosen each term, ensuring a fresh and exciting experience.

There is great value in repeating the course, refining your skills before advancing.

So despite those nerves .....come and visit us and check it out.

What Our Students & Others Say

Pete Friesen

The Almighty, Alice Cooper

I've been playing with Jon for over 20 years now and he is one of the most naturally talented drummers I have ever worked with. His subtly of touch and musical instincts are fantastic, and his innate groove makes him a joy to play with. You know you're in safe hands when he is behind the kit.
